Boys will be boys...

Sorry for the lack of posts, I have been busy with my two boys and not had much of a chance to post anything...

Yesterday was one of those eventful days that will be imprinted on my brain for life! It was a beautiful warm day and we spent a lot of the time outside.  I decided I couldn't just sit outside and watch the boys, you know relax in the sun like you should when your'e on leave, so I decanted the ever growing button stash onto a blanket and sat in the sun to sort through them.

Great I thought, until my lovely boys decided it would be great fun to bash each other with brooms!!! Let's just say one ended up crying his eyes out and the other throwing a strop because I told him off for making his brother cry.  Then the little one decides to help me sort the buttons out, putting them into all the wrong pots!

I decided an indoor break was in order and Jack wanted to play upstairs, so we all went up (that way I could keep an eye on them) and I decided I would catch up with my emails so left Harry to play in his bedroom.

Five minutes later and an 8 year old screaming "Oh my God Mum look what Harry has done!" as you can imagine I have never moved so fast in my life. Harry is standing there, butt naked covered in orange pen...yes orange pen...he looked like an Oompa Loompa!!! Unfortunately I didn't take a photo because I was worried about getting it off him, but he looked something like this.....

Okay he didn't look quite like this but oh dear, left any longer he might have!!

We're off out today, not sure where yet maybe to the coast for walk on the beach (a scavenger hunt for me, for my beach themed bathroom?!?) Anyhow, off to do breakfast for my boys...the treasures! TTFN ~x~

Happy April Fools'....

When I was younger we used to love April Fools' day, my sister Kelly and I would play practical jokes on my Mum and Dad, like putting salt in the sugar bowl or fake spiders on the floor.  They worked too, from what I can remember but then again our parents probably just went with it so we felt like we'd fooled them!

Wikipedia say this about April Fools' Day;

April Fools' Day is celebrated in the Western world on the 1st of April of every year. Sometimes referred to as All Fools' Day, 1st April is not a legal holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated as a day which tolerates practical jokes and general foolishness. The day is marked by the commission of good humoured or funny jokes, hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, teachers, neighbors, work associates, etc.

So I'm thinking that it would be really fun to get my boys to play a practical joke on their Dad,

so this is what we're going to do;

1. Superglue a pound coin just outside the front door and see if he tries to pick it up (I'm certain he'll give it a go!!)
2. Put some jelly worms in the cereal packet, so they end up in his breakfast.
3. Blow up a whoopee cushion and put it under his pillow before bed (okay this may not actually count seeing as it's after midday, but who cares anyway!!!)

The world according to Harry...

Today my sister Kelly has had the day off and it's also my Dad's birthday so we thought it would be nice to give him a birthday lunch, nothing fancy just sandwiches, crisps and a shop bought cake (I didn't have the time to make one!).  So Kelly and I decided we'd take Harry, my two and a half year old, to the shops for provisions, he was great going around the shops, pointing out things he knew and not once asking to go down the toy aisle.

He growled a little bit at the checkout lady, but hey I thought it looked more like a toothy grin and I'm sticking with that story!!

On the way out he spots the kids rides, well because Aunty Kelly was with us he was fortunate to be treated to a ride on Jay Jay the Jet Plane, which he loves;

Three rides later he hops off, Kelly and I ready to make our way home, only to jump onto the Bear in the Big Blue House Boat! Bless him, he was oblivious to the fact these rides cost money;

One ride later and we are both thinking this has got to be it?!?  Oh no, not Harry, he jumps onto Barney's Train or "Choo Choo" as he so eloquently puts it;

All I can imagine is that he's thinking "Why ride one, when you can ride all three...". That's the world according to Harry....TTFN ~x~
