Brighton in February...

We went to Brighton this past Friday and guess what we did? I'll give you a clue...

Yep, we went on the Brighton Wheel. We all thought it was great, the weather in Brighton was overcast and the wind was sharp but it was a great day out.  We wrapped up warm and walked from one end of the seafront (where we parked the car!) all the way up to the pier and wheel.

The wheel was better than I expected, I haven't been on the London Eye yet, but this has inspired me to take the plunge and go asap.  The boys loved it, well Harry was a little nervous at first but by the third rotation he was just peachy. I would recommend it to anyone, you get a good view of Brighton up there and it's reasonable at £25 for a family of four.

Now in my family you cannot go to the seaside without going on the beach, so wrapped in jackets we trudged down to the surf. Thank goodness the kids didn't end up in the drink but they could have done without the stern warnings from Mum!!

Don't you just love the sound of the waves hitting the shore? Anyhoo, for some unknown reason I always take the wrong turning coming back from Brighton and end up going towards Eastbourne! I know, crazy aren't I? But we did eventually get home, albeit one hour later than we should, hey ho! TTFN ~x~

Don't you just love the beach?

I don't know what it is about walking on the beach, maybe it's because we don't live that close to one that its such a joy to take a walk on one.

Last week, my eldest was on his Easter holiday from school so my Mum and I took the opportunity to take the boys down to the coast, via IKEA in Southampton (but that's another story!).

The boys loved the beach, although it's a pebble beach it just feels great when you get to paddle in the sea, well that's what Jack thought...

Harry on the other hand was just content to throw pebble in the sea and run away when the waves hit the shore...

Jack was somewhat disappointed that we didn't end up at a sandy beach beach he was desperate to build a sangar (a term for a small temporary fortified position originally made up of stone, now built of sandbags and similar materials - wikipedia) however they both did get to do a little digging and a lot wet!!!

Mum and I took great pleasure sitting on the pebbles, watching the boys whilst collecting some lovely shells and unusual pebbles to take home.  We just kicked off our shoes and enjoyed the sun....

Our next beach trip will be at the beginning of June on a sandy beach this time, although it will be the lovely black sand on the island of Lanzarote..... can't wait! TTFN ~x~

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.....

I've been somewhat of a slacker these past few days, what with one thing or another I just haven't had a chance to post anything!

I managed to put a few more items on my Folksy site DoodleDandy which was left over stock from the Christmas fayre I did at my eldest son's school.  I really need to work on some new stock for my shop and have many ideas floating around my head.....I just need to get the ideas out and make them!

I have made a momentous decision that my bathroom needs redecorating. It's not an old bathroom and it's actually a lovely blue colur with creamy beige tiles, but it just needs something....which leads me on to what I've been doing when I get a moment, I've created a mood board. Basically I Googled the theme I was after and have found some great inspiration. The theme? The Beach!

I've decided to paint the walls with a stripe effect in neutral shades, which should look great with the white suite and white cabinet.  Then I just need to fill it full of beach accessories, like boats, lighthouses, starfish to name a few....watch this space and when it's done I'll post a picture.
